Hiram Alexander, Jr.
Hiram Alexander, 90, of Nokomis, IL passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at 5:40 P.M. at Nokomis Rehab and HealthCare Center.
He was born on December 22, 1924 in Christian county, a son of Hiram J. Alexander and Ruth Hinton & his adoptive mother, Carrie Straub.
Hiram graduated high school and was parts manager at NAPA. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge, where he has served as a Mason for over 70 years. Hiram was also a member of the N.R.A and Illinois Sheriff’s Association.
Mr. Alexander was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII.
Hiram married the former Leola Baurele on February 14, 1947 in Ramsey, IL. She preceded him in death on February 8, 2000.
He is survived by his sons, Ritch (Nancy) Alexander of Granite City, IL & Roger (Susan) Alexander of Nokomis, IL.
Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Leola.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 16, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Baptist Church in Nokomis. Pastor Gary Baurle will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 until 7 P.M. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis, IL. There will be Masonic Rites exemplified at the closing of visitation. Full military honors will be conducted at the Nokomis City Cemetery in Nokomis, IL.
