ALICE ELIZABETH BAHLS, 84, of Lapeer since 1956, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
She was born September 22, 1928, in Detroit, to parents Richard and Marion (Pack) Scott. Alice married Richard “Dick” Bahls on June 22, 1952 in Detroit.
Mrs. Bahls began as a teacher with public schools, ending her career after many years with Baker College. She was a long term member of First Presbyterian Church, Lapeer. Alice always enjoyed being active in local and state politics.
Mrs. Bahls is survived by her sons, Thomas A. (Betsey) Bahls, and Christopher J. Bahls; grandchildren, Erica, Scott and Andrew; as well as sister, Peggy (Ron) McCreight of Troy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Bahls; Christopher’s life partner, David Muller; her siblings, Dorothy Patton, Janet Gallup, Dick Scott and Phyllis Watton; and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lapeer District Library.

Funeral service was held Friday, May 10, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church, Lapeer, officiated by Pastor Todd D. Smith. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lapeer.
