May have been born in 1863. Most every source differs. But had first child very young. Edith was born in 1881, per ML to Kimes. Again, sources differ.

Daughter of Harris and Julia Sipes McKane (should be Sophia Sipes McKane), she married Sam Dempsey, was widowed, last lived at 720 Diamond Alley (Sassafras St), Franklin, died in the Franklin Hospital of myocardial degeneration after falling and fracturing her left hip, per death certificate 6860, whose informant was Mrs. J. V. McConnell, 1349 Myrtle St, Franklin. Buried Feb 2 1946 in Free Ground with no marker, per cemetery records.

The Derrick, Saturday, Feb 2 1946:
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna L. Dempsey of 720 Sassafras st., widow of Sam Dempsey, who died Thursday on her 81st birthday anniversary on the Franklin Hospital, will be conducted in the Burger funeral home at 2 pm Saturday. Burial will be in the Franklin cemetery. She was admitted to the hospital Jan. 9. suffering from a broken hip.

She was the daughter of Harris McKane and Mrs. Julia Sipes McKane and was born in Rockland township Jan. 31, 1865. She had lived in Franklin many years.

Surviving are a brother, Lewis McKane of Titusville, a sister, Mrs. Braden McKinley of Hendersonville, and a great-grandson, George A. Ernst of Titusville.
