Bruce J. Carlyle, 81, lifelong resident of the Bethany community, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Monday at his home in Bethany.
Mr. Carlyle was born June 30, 1882 near Bethany, a son of James and Sarah Ekiss Carlyle. He resided on a farm near Bethany until 4 years ago, when he moved to Bethany.
He is survived by a son, Frank, Sullivan and three daughters, Rose, Hazel and Bernice, all at home. Also surviving is a sister, Dana, of Bethany.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Tohill Memorial Home, with Rev. Robert Springer officiating. Mrs. Lloyd Younger, Jr. furnished organ music.
Pall bearers were Dan Sanner, Robert Sanner, Jr., Carl Shelton, Frank Roby, Loyd McLaughlin and G.K. Boyer.
Interment was in Bethany Cemetery.
