The obituary for Helen in the Youngstown Vindicator on 27 Nov 1963 reads as follows:

Mrs Edward J Higgins

Funeral services were held today at St Ann Church, Santa Ana, California, for Mrs Helen (Nell) Higgins, 70, of 1319 Broadway, Santa Ana, formerly of Youngstown. She died of cancer at 4:45 am Monday at her residence after a long illness.

Mrs Higgins was born in Leetonia, February 17, 1893, a daughter of Patrick and Margaret Jennings Halloran. She formerly lived at 115 Upland Ave and moved to California after the death of her husband, Edward J, a former Youngstown policeman, in 1946. She was a former member of St Edward Church.

Mrs Higgins leaves a son, Thomas, of Santa Ana; two sisters, Misses Ann and Margaret Halloran, and two brothers, James and Gene Halloran, all of Santa Ana; and a granddaughter. A son, William F was killed in an explosion at Fort Hood, Texas while serving in the Army in 1943.

The body will be brought to Youngstown Thursday for burial at Calvary Cemetery.
