James "Jim" Maurice Cox, 73, of Husser, LA, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from LSU Lallie Kemp Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Rick Cox; daughters, Debbie Ogima (Steve), Lola Jawor (Greg), LaRae Lee Cox, and son, Richard Cox (Paulette); step-daughter, Dawn Jordan Rick (Andy) and step-son J.P. Jordan (Kim); Sister, Johnny Ruth King (Gordon); and sister-in-law, Omalena Davis Cox (Mack).
He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zollie Maurice Cox and Lola Mae Crowe Cox Schaff; son, Thomas Byron Cox; grandson, Christopher Gregory Jawor; and 2 brothers, Zollie Maxwell "Mack" Cox and Richard Marvin "Dick" Cox.
Jim was a veteran and an active member of New Sharon Baptist Church in Husser, LA.
As per Jim's request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to New Sharon Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Jim.
