Granddaughter of John A. Belcher and his 2nd wife Mary Whritenour Tidaback Belcher.
In 1860 the family moved to Paterson, New Jersey. On December 25, 1869 Eliza married James Mills. They were married by the Reverend W.W. Holloway from the Broadway Reformed Church, 97 Benson Street in Paterson.
James and Eliza had 4 children, Joseph Belcher Mills born in June of 1871, George born February of 1877, Eleanor Belcher Mills born July of 1884 and Marjorie Alison Mills born March of 1889.
Grandmother of 7 children George Mills, Marjorie Langford Mills, Dorothy Hamilton Mills, George Stewart Mills, James Mills Hartley, Barnard Hartley the IV, and Welcome Hartley.
Some records show Eliza being born a year earlier in 1846. But the grave stone shows 1847.

Buried at the top of the Cedar Lawn hill, near fence in front of grave marked Preston, nearby stone on road named Storms/Bakelaar.
Eliza and James Mills are buried in front of my family's plot. I was born on James' birthday and always thought that they were family, just for that fact. They do rest near my great-grandparents grave.
