Born in Bushnell, NC, on June 7, 1910, a daughter of the late Sherman Samuel Hyde (1886–1961) and Daisey Bell Matilda Payne Hyde (1881–1956); widow of Roy Thomas Anthony; and was first married to the late Robert Brooks (married 31 Mar 1933).
Attended the Assembly of God in Monarch and was formerly employed with Modern Cleaners.
Survivors include her daughters, Joyce A. Turner (George) and Geraldine Green; sons, Thomas Eli Anthony (Pat), Doyle Anthony (Dianne), and Carlie Anthony (Becky); 26 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
Also predeceased by sons, Robert D Brooks (1933-2001), Harold Lyle Anthony (1938-1982), and Riley Aaron Anthony (1942-1972); grandchildren. Gene Anthony and Tommy Anthony; great-grandchild, Michael Todd Kirby; and a great-great-grandchild, Austin Dover.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 pm, Monday, March 4, 2002, at Monarch Assembly of God conducted by the Rev. Jerry Hargrove and the Rev. Billy Ramsey; burial in Jonesville Memorial Gardens.
