William Riley Dennis was born on August 16, 1867, in Ransom, Michigan. His father was Thomas Dennis and his mother was Sally Ann Osmun. In 1892, he married Margaret Elizabeth Jones and they had three children together. They later dicorced and in 1905, he then married Eliza Roxey Snow and they had five children together. He died on May 31, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 76, and was buried there.
