George Cowe, 70, a well-known associate member of the Canadian Legion No. 1 branch, died today at his home, the Colonial Hotel 209 7th Ave. E. An enthusiastic sports fan. Mr. Cowe served on the executive committee of the Callies football club for several years and kept an active interest in local sport until his death. He came to Calgary in 1912 from Edinburgh, and was a tailor by trade. He had been an associate member of the Canadian Legion since 192?. Surviving are two brothers. William, in Calgary, and James B. in Duns, Berwickshire, Scotland; three sisters, two in Rochester. N.Y. and one in Victoria.
