Mrs. Marie Andersen Larsen
Died Saturday, June 25, 1910, Marie Andersen Larsen, wife of Nels Larsen, aged 58 years, 2 months, and 14 days.
Marie Andersen was born in Denmark in April 1852, and lived there till 1881, when she came to America living at first in Jasper county Iowa. There she married Nels Larsen on December 26, 1881. For four years they lived in that county when they came to Adams county, Nebraska, and seven years ago they moved to Valley county, where they have lived since, enjoying the respect and esteem of all who knew them.
Four children were born to these good people, one dying in infancy and the other three still living at the parental home.
While living in Adams county, in the year 1896, she suffered a stroke of paralysis. For a while she was completely helpless, but after long weeks, she began to slowly recover strength, so that in a couple years ago she was able to be about the house, but in no manner as she was before the stroke came. Two years ago she suffered a second stroke and since then has been, till death came to her relief, a completely helpless woman. Her people had to minister to her every want, even to feeding her. Through these two awful years her husband and children faithfully cared for her and to every possible thing administered to her wants.
With no apparent symptoms of a final failure she passed these past two years, till last week Wednesday, when she became suddenly worse, the real cause being diabetes. Her strength was insufficient for any further taxing and Saturday forenoon she passed away.
The burial was had from the family house on Haskell creek and the body was laid to rest to the Ord cemetery, Rev. Davids officiating.
