Hortense A. (Klutzke) Sutton, 92, of Lafayette, died at Creasy Springs Healthcare in Lafayette 5:39 PM Friday November 6, 2015. Hortense was born in Lafayette June 8, 1923, the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Elizabeth Reuzenaar Klutzke and was a graduate of St. Francis High School in Lafayette. She married Clyde A. Sutton in Lafayette august 21, 1948 and he preceded her in death January 11, 1999. Mrs. Sutton was a homemaker and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and for a brief period, was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and gardening along with playing bingo and euchre.. Hortense had a love of music, especially Lawrence Welk and music of her youth. Surviving are four daughters, Jeanne (husband John) Knoth, Diane (husband Gene) Carlson, Susan (husband Thomas) Aschenberg, all of Lafayette and Carole Howard of Indianapolis, IN; a sister, Evelyn Hanover of Lafayette, IN; and by two brothers, Robert Klutzke (wife mary) of Wingate, IN and Marion Klutzke of West Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph F. and Elizabeth Klutzke and by a brother, Joseph "Joe" Klutzke.
