Steve Armstrong of Ball was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, November 6, 2015.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Betty Armstrong; daughters, Patricia Smith, Danita Bordelon (Mark), Special Niece; Dewana Atwell (Willie); sister, Cecil Heil (Leo) ; grandchildren, Scotty Howell (Mancy), Joe McCarley, Jeff Michiels (Robin), Stacy Belgard (Austin), Chance Bordelon (Sarah). In addition, Mr. Armstrong was blessed to have six wonderful great-grandchildren, Jensen and McKenna Howell, Landon and Anna Michiels, Balian Floyd and Wyatt Belgard and various nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Armstrong is preceded in death by his parents, D. B. and Opha Coburn Armstrong and son-in-law Penny Smith.
Mr. Armstrong graduated from Georgetown High School and following graduation, he proudly served in the Korean War. During his working career, he was a bus driver for Trailways Bus Line for many years. In his spare time, he loved to work in his garden, and spend time surrounded by his family.
Services for Mr. Armstrong will be under the direction of Hixson Brother's Funeral Home in Pineville. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, November 9, 2015 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM. Funeral service will take place in the Chapel of Hixson Brother's on November 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Joe Bruce officiating. Pallbearers will be Scotty Howell, Jeff Michiels, Joe McCarley, Mark Slayton, Greg Robinson and Brandon Lincecum. Honorary pallbearers will be Landon Michiels, Kenneth Antee, Oscar Coody, Mike McCarley and Mark Bordelon. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery, Pollock.
