Virginia Oleson Kreutzer Donaldson passed away on October 29, 2015 in Salt Lake City at the age of ninety-eight. She was surrounded by family at the time of her passing.

She was born May 10, 1917 in Salt Lake City to Samuel Warren and Hazel Clark Oleson. She lived most of her life in Salt Lake City. She graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Microbiology in 1938.

She was married to Elwood William (Bill) Kreutzer, M.D. from 1942 to 1951. While supporting her aging parents, she raised two sons, sending one on an LDS mission and helping both graduate from college.

She returned to the University of Utah and received her Master's degree in Psychology in 1969. She was then accepted to the Ph.D. program at Brigham Young University and received her Doctorate in Psychology in 1973.

She worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in the Psychiatric department in Salt Lake City until she retired at age seventy in 1987.

Virginia married Shelly A. Donaldson in 1986 in the Jordan River Temple.

She enjoyed traveling the world and visited at least twelve different countries. She enjoyed reading about world history and biographies. Virginia was an avid opera fan and loved ballet. She attended performances in Paris, Rome, New York, and her hometown Salt Lake City.

She was devoted to her family and spent considerable time with her children and grandchildren. Her caring nature and love for her family and friends was exceptional and will be cherished by those who knew her.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and taught Gospel Doctrine for many years.

Virginia is survived by her sons, George C. (LaRaye) Kreutzer of Spokane, Washington; and Richard W. (Helen) Kreutzer of Sandy; her younger sister, Shirley Labrum of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children, Margaret and Craig, who passed away shortly after birth; her first husband, Dr. Elwood W. Kreutzer; husband, Shelly A. Donaldson; and her twin sister, Margaret Oleson Hunter.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cottonwood Acres Ward Chapel, 981 Revere Circle (5600 South), Murray. Friends and family may call at 10:00 a.m. - one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive (1450 East), East Millcreek.
