Ruth A. Housley, 59, of Muskogee, died early Wednesday morning at her home following an extended illness. A native of Guthrie, she was born Sept. 11, 1928. She grew up in Oklahoma City before moving to Muskogee in 1948. The following year she was married to Lester Housley. She attended Northeastern Oklahoma State University at Talequah where she received a degree in Business Administration. During her early productive years she taught school for two years before embarking on a career with Oklahoma State Education Association. She worked nearly two decades at Regional Education Services Center, and also taught computer programing at Indian Capital Vo-Tech. Services will be held at graveside Friday, 10 a.m. in Greenhill Cemetery with Frank Morgan, pastor of Westside Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be directed by Foster-Petering Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, Lester of the home; one son, Douglas R. Housley of Waco, Texas; two daughters, Sandra Roe of Ellisville, Missouri and Monica Faulkenbery of Waco, Texas; her mother, Marie Keeth of Muskogee; one brother, Walter Keeth of Pueblo, Colorado; one sister, Judith Clancy of Wichita, Kansas; one grandson, Jeremy Roe of Ellisville, Missouri. Friends are contributing to Eastern Oklahoma Hospice through Muskogee Regional Medical Center.
