Mr. Acklin was a lifelong resident of Brownsville, having been born here in
1877 a son of the late Lawrence and Sara Beatty Acklin. He was a retired
painting contractor. Mr. Acklin was a member of the Brownsville First
Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nora Kelley Acklin, eight sons and
daughters, Wilbur and Okal, Brownsville, Mrs. Arlis (Sylvia) Mitchell of
Ohio, Miss Lillian of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Mabel Bookhardt at home, Calvin of
Pittsburgh, and John and Griffith of Brownsville, 23 grandchildren, 16
great-grandchildren, and one brother, John of Carmichaels.
Friends are being received at the Kisinger Funeral Home where services will
be held at 2 p. m., Friday, September 9, 1955, with the Rev. Ben F. Donley,
his pastor, officiating.
Burial in Bridgeport Cemetery.
