Ossa O. Bowlden Ferguson, 93, of Orem, died Thursday, Feb 9, 1984 in Provo. She was born Nov 21, 1890 in Springville to James and Othelia Leona Avery Bowlden. She married James B. Ferguson on Nov 30, 1910 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He died May 14, 1969.

She attended schools in Springville.

She served in all the auxiliary organizations of the LDS Church on both a ward and state level. She was ward chorister for many years, serving under three bishops, and she applied her musical talents in other than church functions. She was a bishop's wife for five years.

She worked on the Old Folks Committee for the church on both a ward and stake level when all of Provo and boundaries were part of the Utah Stake.

She joined the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers in April 1937 as a charter member of the Edgemont Camp. For 15 years she worked with the state Central DUP Committee in Salt Lake City, and for eight years she was president of the North Utah County DUP.

She is survived by a daughter in Provo, Mrs J.T. (Naomi) Walker; 17 grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Three sons preceded her in death; Howard B., J Cecil and Ray B.

The funeral will be Monday, Feb 13, at 11 a.m. at the Edgemont 19th Ward Chapel, 4300 Canyon Rd. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary in Orem, 495 S. State St., and at the church an hour prior to Services Monday. Burial will be at the Orem City Cemetery.
