Obituary Hilda Theresa Cook Lamp

Hilda T. Lamp age 99, of Monticello and formerly of Sheffield, Iowa, died Wednesday February 27, 2002 at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. Private family graveside services will be held on Friday at the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello is in charge of the arrangements. Surviving is are 2 daughters, Marilyn Lamp, Sheffield, Iowa and Jan (Robert) Arduser, Monticello, 3 granddaughters, Lori (Ignacio) Mendieta, Keri (Tom) Paulsen, Kris (Rich) Kromminga, 10 great-grandchildren, Rob, Mitchell, Morgan and Dylan Mendieta, Jeremy, Jason, and Jade Paulsen, Sara, Kaci and Taryn Kromminga. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her husband, a sister, Bertha Baugman and 3 brothers, Ed, Bill and Marvin Cook.Hilda Theresa Cook was born November 26, 1902 at Terril, Iowa. She was the daughter of George and Meta Boysen, Cook. Hilda graduated from the Terril High School and then went on to attend the Sioux City Business College. She was employed at the Terril Bank and later at the Bennett State Bank where she met her husband Harvey. Hilda married Harvey Lamp on August 8, 1928 at Davenport, Iowa. The couple lived in Bennett for 25 years before moving to Sheffield in 1952. Harvey preceded her in death on January 10, 1969. Hilda moved to Monticello in 1998 and had lived at the Care Center the past 2 years. Hilda was a member of the United Methodist Church, Sheffield, the Eastern Star and the Shrine Auxiliary.
