Rose Parks 1932 - 2015 Rose Mary Parks, 82, died October 16, 2015, with her family by her side in Boonville, Missouri where she was a resident of Hartmann Village. Rose was born on November 9, 1932 in Lexington, Missouri to Martin and Laura (Bell) Cretzmeyer. She was a 1950 graduate of Lexington High School and received an Associate of Arts Degree from Moberly Junior College following high school. Rose lived a life full of love, laughter, travel and card playing. Married on May 22, 1954, Rose Mary and Dan Berry Parks made their home in Salisbury, Missouri and were blessed with three sons. In 1964, Rose and Dan Berry relocated their family to Glasgow, Missouri where she remained a resident until her retirement to the Lake of the Ozarks, a location that had provided many cherished memories for Rose and her family. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Rose prided herself on being a successful businesswoman, cunning card player, and active member of her community and church. She was very devoted to the Catholic faith. Rose was survived by her three sons, Robert Wayne “Bobby” Parks, William Martin “Bo” Parks, and Dan Berry Parks, II; her daughter-in-law Kathy (Lewis) Parks; her sisters, Margaret Casella, Doris Heimer, and Annabelle Savio; her seven grandchildren, Kelly (Parks) Kallmeyer, Kasie (Parks) Meyer, Wesley Parks, Lewis Parks, Jill Parks, Glenna Parks, and Dan Berry Parks, III; and her seven great-grandchildren, Silas Kallmeyer (son of Kelly and Joe Kallmeyer), Jackson Meyer (son of Kasie and Joe Meyer), Gabriella and Xavier Parks (children of Wesley and Rosa Parks), and Madisyn, Macie Kate and Maylen Parks (children of Lewis and Whitney Parks). Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband May 26, 1988 and also her daughter-in-law, Joyce (Himmelberg) Parks October 13, 2004. Rose’s entire family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and send out a special thanks to the staff of Hartmann Village, who lovingly cared for Rose during her final years and treated her as if she were family. A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Parks will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Fr. Alex Gabriel officiating. Visitation will be held the evening before the service, Monday, October 19, from 5-7 PM at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow. Burial will follow the service at Asbury Cemetery in rural Keytesville.
