He was a member of Hines Valley Baptist Church, on Yarnell Road in Knoxville, for many years. He loved the church and his church family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Pernie Holmes Rogers; sisters Doris Bryant and Joyce Leslie; and his brother Terry Rogers. Everette is survived by his wife Louise Davis Rogers; his brother Maurice (Jean) Rogers of Lenior City; son Donald Rogers, of Nashville; his very special nephew/ son Doug Davis and children, Christina and Andrew (Trina) Rogers and son Treyson, all from Lenior City, and many other much loved nieces and nephews. Special friend and golfing buddy, of many years, Robert "Red" Lynch, of Oak Ridge; plus many other friends.
Everette retired after working for 35 years at Martin Marietta, Y-12 plant in Oak Ridge. He is a University of Tennessee graduate where he received is B.S. degree in Industrial Education, while working full time. He was a member of the Gemini Space Program team. Everette is an Army veteran who served in Panama during World War 2. He had a special love for his Arabian horses; which he bred, trained and showed all over the country with much success.
The family would like to extend many thanks to extra special caregiver Trina Davis and to Amedisys, including Claudia and P.J. for their excellent care and compassion.
There will be no visitation. Graveside Service will be officiated by Pastor Allen Williams at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Woodhaven Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN 37849. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Hines Valley Baptist Church, 2129 Yarnell Road, Knoxville, TN 37932.
