Samuel Kenyon was the son of Jonathan Kenyon and Sarah (Rogers) Kenyon, daughter of Captain James and Eliza Rogers of Westerly Rhode Island. His parents married in 1725.

Samuel married Elizabeth Lewis, daughter of James and Abigail Lewis.

Samuel Kenyon has Kenyon identification number 173, from the book, "American Kenyons," 1935, by Howard N. Kenyon, page 88.

In 1753, he was appointed guardian of Abigail, Hannah, and Ruth Lewis, daughters of James Lewis, deceased of Richmond, Rhode Island.

His will was probated in Charlestown, Rhode Island in July 1801. He was apparently visiting children in Connecticut when he died there. (American Kenyons, page 88)
