William Minor Knell, Sr., 73, died at his home in Gibson City at 9:30 p. m. Monday of a heart attack.

Born Jan. 18, 1887, near Gibson City, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Knell. He was a lifelong resident of that community.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, William, Jr., and Charles, both of Gibson; four daughters, Viola Hanson of Peoria, Helen Butler, Mabel Rexroat and . Goldie Nelson, all of Gibson; and 15 grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, two sisters and one son.
