Donald Russell Hein Battle Creek Donald Russell Hein, Battle Creek,, age 81, died Thursday, October 22, 2015, at his residence. Don was born on June 2, 1934, in Detroit, MI, the son of Herman and Anna (Keane) Hein, Sr. He was a 1952 graduate of Chadsey High School in Detroit. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. On October 5, 1957, he was united in marriage to Louise Delores (Angliss) who preceded him in death on July 29, 2008, after 50 years of marriage. He had been employed with Burroughs, LTV, moving to Battle Creek in 1969. He worked at Levitt Building Systems, Keiper Recaro, Highland Appliance, ABC Warehouse and Franklin Recycling. He owned and operated Ideal Electric in Climax for 13 years. He enjoyed golfing, running a small golf league of friends. He was an avid bowler with a 300 game in 1975. He served as president and board member of the bowling association, loved U of M sports, spending time at the Dolphin Lounge with friends and was shareholder at the "Table of Knowledge. Don was a mentor and strong guiding force in his grandchildren's life. He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Louise (Hein) Grassi; grandchildren, Danielle Grassi of Howell, MI, Russell Grassi of Napa, CA, and Spencer Grassi of Howell, MI; a brother, Herman "Bud" Hein, Sr.; nieces, Shellee (Paul) DeVereuge, Carolyn (Jerry) Schultz, Cheryl Forester; sister-in-law, Susan (Mike) Fields; nieces and nephews, Patrick (Cindy) Fields, Scott Fields, Joe (Michelle) Evangelista, Kris (Charlie) Johnson, John (Amanda) West; brother-in-law, John West; great nieces and nephews, Chris Devreuge, Lee Ann DeVereuge, Cassidy Schultz, Laura (Doug) Respecki, Kristen Riley, Cole and Shelby, Megan Riley and Lily. He was preceded in death by a son, Russell Scott Hein on October 31, 1987; his parents; a sister, Evelyn Forester; sister-in-law Deanna Towe; and nephew, Mickey Fields. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Don's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Riverside Golf Club and Banquet Center. Visitation will be held from 12 to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Russell Scott Hein Scholarship Fund. Arrangements by the Richard A.
