Bill A. McPeck, 82, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison. Born May 31, 1933 in Flushing, Ohio, he was a son of the late Richard Lee and Mary Emma (Dalpiaz) McPeck. The last of his family’s generation, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Charles, Ronald, Robert and Richard McPeck, and Jean Davis.

Bill was a 1953 graduate of Uhrichsville High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving his country from 1953 to 1955. Upon his return home, he began his career as an electrician with Fenton Brothers Electric. In 1973, he and his family moved to California where he was employed by the Los Angeles Times until his retirement in 1993. After retiring, he and his wife returned to Uhrichsville where he spent his time creating many pieces through metal working and sculpting, as well as woodworking with local hardwoods. His creations included boats, trains, locomotives and even a full-size suit of armor. Bill was a member of Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship where he was very active in the life of the congregation.

On September 21, 1953, Bill married the former Peggy Brindley with whom he celebrated 62 years of loving marriage. He is also survived by their children, Cindy (Kurt) Smith, William McPeck, Kim (Lorri) McPeck, Tamara Secord, Bret (Zully) McPeck, Don (Lori) McPeck, and Yolanda McPeck; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members including nieces and nephews.

Pastor Tom Klaserner will officiate an 11am funeral on Saturday, October 31, 2015 in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. Visitation will be 5-8pm on Friday at the funeral home. In keeping with Bill’s adamant wish, his family encourages memorial donations to the Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship Building Fund, in lieu of flowers.
