Lois Anne Adams, age 72, of Arden, DE, went home to heaven Saturday, October 24, 2015. Lois was the daughter of the late Edward and Kathryn Downs. She was a kind soul who went out of her way to help everyone she knew. Lois never forgot a name or birthday. The family will miss her early morning birthday calls and singing telegrams on the front of birthday cards. Lois enjoyed dancing, singing, going to the beach, and watching the Food Network and game shows; but, the most important things in life were her children and grandchildren. The close bond they had with each other helped her through her long struggle with cancer.
Lois is survived by her 7 children: Michael and Brian Dolan, Michelle Keller (Matt), Robin Delaney (Rob), Terry Johnson (Kelly), Carol McCafferty (Richard), and William Wilson Jr.; 9 grandchildren: Keith, Brian, Alex, Katie, Ally, Josh, Abby, Sherri, and Buddy; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Sonny Downs; and sister, Kathryn Erisman. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Hokey and Jack Downs; and sister, Joan Barlow.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 6-8 PM in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 and again on Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 10-11 AM at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 1013 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Autism Delaware, 924 Old Harmony Rd., Newark, DE 19713. For directions or to send an online condolence visit www.stranofeeley.com
