ROY-Elizabeth Stitt Baird, 91, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011. She was born July 22, 1920, in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Hill Stitt.

She was raised in Ogden, and attended local schools there. On January 18, 1939, she married Dale DeMearl Baird in Kaysville. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. They made their home in Roy. Dale preceded her in death July 26, 1996.

Elizabeth was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served faithfully in many callings, including Primary teacher, Cub Scout leader, Relief Society visiting teacher and Sports director.

She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, golfing, and she loved being around her family, and especially attending grandchildren activities.

Elizabeth was a “snowbird” traveling to St. George for many years. Mom surrounded herself with good friends in St. George and Monte Vista Park in Roy. She was a friend to all.

She is survived by her children; Dalene (Jim) Ward, Vicky (Steve) Smith, Dale (Caroline) Baird, Scott (Wendy) Baird, Jill (Glen) Jacobson, Curtis (Emily) Baird, and Debbie (Kevin) Colohan, 42 grandchildren, 99 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Dale, her parents, and eleven siblings. She was the last of her siblings, and is enjoying a glorious reunion now.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday from 11:00-12:00 p.m., prior to services.

Interment in Washington Heights Memorial Gardens.
