Emery committed suicide at the age of 55 as per his death certificate . Sources said that he was almost blind and he burned in his home. He married Macie I. Dawson who was in the service with Emery's sister Claire Deschand. He may have lived in New Mexico for a while. Macie died June 6, 1966 before Emery in Howard co. Texas. It could be he was dispondent being left alone. He never kept in contact with the family much. The state buried him and they wrote a letter to the family asking if they would pay funeral expenses and the family did not, so the state buried him so it is not known if he even has a marker. He was the son of Marcel and Henrietta Deschand .
