Born July 17, 1927 in Millard, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Ardelia (Madden) Lee. Cynthia and her family moved to Lafayette in 1944.
Her first marriage was to Courtney "Jack" Harris and he preceded her in death. She then married George L. Chambers on May 15, 1965 in Indianapolis. George preceded her in death on March 20, 1999.
Cynthia was a homemaker and a member of Christ Memorial Temple.
She is survived by her children, Randall C. Harris, Susan L. Chambers (companion: Lee Bolser), and Sharon E. Ford (husband: Doug), all of Lafayette; and two brothers, Arnon R. Lee of Columbus, OH, and Michael F. Lee of Tram, KY. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Courtney Harris of West Lafayette, Carson Harris of Avon, Dakota Ford of Lafayette, Alexus Ford of Lafayette, and Peyton Stiers of Indianapolis; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death with her parents and husbands are four sisters, Helen Pierce, Ethel Ayers, Clearsia Lee, and Genestel Pauline Lee; five brothers, James F. Lee, Willie Lee, Ronald Lee, Stanley Lee, and Rudolph Robert Lee; and her close companion, William "Babe" Harris.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm, Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service at 10 am, Monday, October 26, at Christ Memorial Temple (3801 Union St., Lafayette, IN 47905) with Rev. Anthony Carson officiating. Burial to follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park of Lafayette.
