Gerald Francis Cook, 88, of Newalla passed from this life on September 7, 2019 in Yukon, OK to his rewards in Heaven where he will be welcomed by a large group of family and friends. He was born July 24, 1931 in Newalla, OK to Hugh Lawton Cook and Hazel (Pennington) Cook. He was employed as the lead mechanic for the City of Oklahoma City and took great pride in keeping the city's police cars in good running order. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II.

Jerry loved working on cars, especially his 1949 Lincoln Zypher. An auto mechanic was both his work and his hobby. He loved to water ski and really enjoyed teaching others how to ski. He was also known to love to drive fast.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Barbara; and a brother, Lawton Cook.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Jean Davis and husband Ray of Yukon; a son, David Gerald Cook and wife Teresa of Newalla; a sister, Jacqueline Bessinger of Newalla and a grandson, Raymond G. Hill of Yukon.

Funeral services were held Sept. 13, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Newalla under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah.
