Effie Janc was born November 7, 1919 at Wolbach NE, to William and Rosena (Klein) Allen. Effie grew up and attended rural school in Wolbach before leaving to help with the family and the farm.
She married Daniel Ray Janc on September 11, 1937 in Grand Island. Effie and Ray lived in Wolbach and St. Paul before moving to Grand Island in 1954.
During her life, Effie was employed at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant and at the Lutheran Memorial Hospital in the housekeeping department. Effie loved gardening and cooking.
She was a member of St. Marys Cathedral and St. Marys Alter Society.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-on-law: Carolyn (Gerald J.J) Just of Elm Creek and Joann Campos of Grand Island, two sons: Daniel Bill Janc and James Jim Janc, both of Grand Island; seven grandchildren and spouses: Ron (Jackie) Synowski, Bob Synowski both of St. Paul, NE, Robyn (Mike) McCann of Colorado Springs, CO, Rhonda (Todd) Goettsche of St. Paul, NE, Becky (Jeff)
Hoos, Monica (Dan) Reilly, Ruddene (Wayne) Kanter, and Tonya (Brian) Baker all of Grand Island; 2 step-grandsons and spouse: Mike Just and Steve (Judee) Just, all of Holdrege; 12 great- grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law: Laurene Janc of Downers Grove, IL.
Effie was preceded in death by her husband Ray; two brothers; Clarence Buss Allen, Arnold Shorty Allen, one sister; Verla Weiser, one son: John Dale Janc;
and a great- grandchild: Stetson Hoos.
