A native of Minnesota, Bob attended the University of Minnesota for a year before being appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy, where he graduated with the class of 1957. Upon graduation, Bob was commissioned an Officer in the U.S. Air Force, where he served until 1965. He was employed by the Naval Oceanographic Office until his retirement, after which he was a resident of Biloxi, Mississippi. Bob was an avid sailor and enjoyed fixing things with his hands. He was preceded in death by father, Raymond Betcher, Sr. and mother, Anna Betcher; sisters, Betty and Margie. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Raymond Edward and Terri Betcher, sons, Russell Anderson Betcher, Robert Ryland Betcher; grandchildren, Madison and Ainsley Betcher.
