Interment will be in the Minnewaska Lutheran Cemetery, Starbuck. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 - 8 P.M. at the Hoplin Funeral Home in Glenwood, Minnesota with a prayer
service at 6 P.M. Visitation will resume on Monday one hour prior to the service at
Minnewaska Lutheran Home.
Dorothy M. Aaberg the daughter of Hans and Claira (Dokken) Aaberg was born May 13, 1930 on a farm west of Starbuck and lived her entire life with cerebral palsey. While living in Benson, she attended grade school and lived with her parents until they died.
She was member of the Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson for many years. Dorothy moved to Glenwood in 2004 and two years later, she moved to Starbuck when she entered the Minnewaska Lutheran Home. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, bingo, dancing, music and singing. She had a talent for cooking and baking which her family enjoyed. Dorothy was also a seamstress, and she enjoyed sewing many of her own clothes. She loved animals, especially dogs and cats, but her favorite was Tuffy. She also enjoyed going for a walk and spending time outside. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her sisters and brothers, Florence Swenson of Starbuck, Ruby and her husband Ervin VanKempen of Starbuck, Warren and wife Eleanor Aaberg of Starbuck, Bernice Cretilli of Glenwood, Norman and wife Shirley Aaberg of Blaine; sister-in-law, Lillian Aaberg of Benson and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Cora (Olgar) Hoium, Myrtle (Walter) Lee, Gladys (Joeseph) Ward, Harris Aaberg, Arvin (Leona) Aaberg; brothers-in-law, Arnold Swenson, and Stephen Cretilli.
