Steeley Delbert Powers of Bryants Store, departed this life on Friday, October 16, 2015 being 82 years, 11 months and 18 days of age. He was born on October 28, 1932 in Knox County, Kentucky to the late Lether and Bertha King Powers.

He was also preceded in death by five brothers: Odell Powers, Richard "Peanut" Powers, Archie Powers, Denver Powers, and Frank Powers; one sister: Linda Mae Graham and his infant daughter.

On February 13, 1956 Steeley married the love of his life. Arbuties, and to this union five children were born.

Steeley was a retired heavy equipment operator for Gatliff Coal Company after over 25 years of service. He enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing. He loved animals, especially his Beagle dogs.

Steeley is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Arbuties Powers; two sons: Denver Powers and wife Alicia Kay of Mackey Bend and Danny Powers and wife Terry of Goldens Creek; two daughters: Phyllis Reynolds and husband Bobby of Bryants Store and Debbie Robinson of Bryants Store; two sisters: Julia Lane of Barbourville and Geneva Steele of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren: Donna Sandlin, David Bays, Bryce Reynolds, Danny Jason Powers, Amber Powers and Ryan Powers; six great-grandchildren: Jeremy Sandlin, Devin Sandlin, Brianna Simpson, Jordan Jase Powers, Dallas Creekmore and Jenna Smith; special friend Dennis Gibson and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services for Steeley Powers will be conducted on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 2PM at the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Rose and Rev. Bill Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Powers Cemetery at Four Mile will Jeremy Sandlin, Devin Sandlin, Ryan Powers, Bryce Reynold, David Bays, and Jason Powers serving as pallbearers. His granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 6PM until 9PM at Hampton Funeral Home.
