"Jane married John Beeler on October 16, 1824 in Claiborne Co., TN. They moved to Missouri in 1832, then with 14 of their 17 children, John and Jane went with Jane's brother Joab Powell and his wife Anna Beeler Powell (who was John Beeler's sister) to Oregon in 1852 and settled close to where Providence Church was built. John furnished the land on which the cemetery is located and Jane's Brother Joab organized this church in 1853."
