Born in Penllwyn, Llanedy, Carmarthenshire, Wales. She married Morgan Walters Nov 29, 1866 in Sardis Chapel, Llanedy Parish, Wales. The couple arrived in America aboard the ship Batavia, 27 Apr 1872. They settled in Brown Co., KS. Hannah is pictured with her grandson, Walter Schrader.

Mrs. Morgan Walters died at her home 7½ miles northeast of Hiawatha, Tuesday evening at 6:30. She was 72 years old. She had been in poor health for a long time, but her death was due to pneumonia from which she suffered 4 days. The Walters are pioneers of the Welsh community northeast of Hiawatha. Funeral will be held at the home Friday at 1:30.

Walters—Hannah Morgan Walters was born near Pantyfynon, Carmenthen Shire, South Wales, Feb. 5, 1950 [sic]; died March 7, 1922. At the age of 18 years she was married to Morgan Walters. To this union were born 5 children of whom all are still living. 4 years after her marriage, Mrs. Walters with her husband and 2 oldest children migrated to America. She spent practically the remainder of her life at her home on their farm with her husband. Soon after coming to America Mrs. Walters joined the First Baptist church of Hiawatha. Later, after organization of Bethel Baptist church, she became one of its charter members. For many years of her life she was a constant sufferer from a complication of diseases. She bore her sufferings with Christ-like patience and fortitude. Her devotion to and for her family being ceaseless, so unselfish and so self-denying; was one of her noblest characteristics. Her death came as a result of flu-pneumonia. She passed away at her home 7½ miles northeast of Hiawatha, March 7, 1922, aged 72 years, one month, 2 days. Once grandchild and one great grandchild preceded her to the Great Beyond. To mourn her loss she leaves a husband, Morgan Walters, and 5 children, 2 sons, John W. Walters, of Hiawatha, Kans., David R. Walters, of St. Joseph, Mo.; 3 daughters, Mrs. Henry Schrader, Mrs. Willis E. Justice, Mrs. Charles Adams, all of Hiawatha. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 4 brothers, John B. Morgan, of Kansas City, Mo.; David B. Morgan, of Effingham, Kans.; Daniel L. Morgan, of California; Isaac B. Morgan, Kansas City, Kans. The body bearers were nephews of the deceased: Lazurus M. Morgan, Louis Morgan, Charles Pell, Roy Pell, Caleb Morgan, Gordon R. Morgan. Burial was in Hiawatha cemetery.
