ODDFELLOW DIES AT PORTLAND HOME---Emerson W. Woodruff, aged 79 years, died at the Oddfellow's home near Kentworth, January 8. He was a member of Spencer Butte Lodge No. 9, of Eugene, and came to the home in 1904. The funeral will be held at the Portland Crematorium Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

On February 9, 1853, the day after his sister Sarah's wedding, Emerson, sister Sarah and her new husband H. E. Hayes, left New Hartford, CT., on the overland journey across the plains to Oregon, reaching Oregon City on November 16, 1853.

He left his brother W. Anderson, of Oysterville, in charge of his personal effects, also to take his place in care of the light. Myself assuming the duties of principal keeper.” E.A. Woodruff.
