Obituario de Judy Arlene Selby
Judy Arlene Roller Selby stepped into heaven on Sunday, February 2, 2014 in Littleton, CO. She was born December 12, 1940 in Phillipsburg, KS to Lloyd & Lois Roller.
Judy was the 3rd of four children. She had two older brothers, John & Larry, and one younger brother, Ken. All of whom proceeded her in death. At the age of 10 the Judy's family moved to Englewood, CO where Judy attended Hawthorne Elementary, Flood Jr High School & Englewood High School, from which she graduated in 1958. After high school she obtained her beauticians license from Hollywood Beauty School in downtown Denver.

Judy met Jerry Selby when she was 14. She was playing basketball when he drove by & she whistled him to a stop. They went steady that summer & dated on and off through high school. After not speaking to Jerry for a year and a half, Judy sent Jerry a letter where he was stationed in Seattle with the US Navy. He came home that May & they became engaged within the week. December 27, 1959, they were married at University Blvd Church of Christ. Lisa Arlene arrived 10 months later, Julie Kathleen followed in 1962 & then Connie Kay was born in 1965.

Judy worked as a beautician for a few months but continued to bless others with her talents for many years. She was active in her children's lives as room mother, Brownie & Girl Scout leader, VBS, Sunday School teacher & as a dear friend.

She was active in planning high school reunions in the decades that followed her graduation. She met with her high school friends every month; they were a great support to her.

Judy learned how to tole paint in the 1970s & then moved on to canvas landscapes & wild life. She entered her work into art shows & sold a single painting of a train moving along a track. It was so traumatic, she never sold another.

Judy was an excellent hostess; her generous heart enabled her to open her home where she demonstrated God's love to many.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing & cross-stitch. Each of her grandchildren have a blanket especially made for them by her.

She was always an active member at University Church of Christ, helping plan showers, women's retreats & as an Elder's wife.

She enjoyed physical activity, including golf, bowling & teaching aerobics. In 1986, Judy first became a grandmother & found her purpose in life, even after doing all of that other stuff. She had a fun-loving, adventurous spirit that drew in all around her.

Judy is survived by five grandchildren: Annelise Garner Hardagree (Justin) of Waco, TX Jerrod Monsees (Emily) of Highlands Ranch, CO Casey Monsees Toy (Jason) of Meadows Place, TX Emily Garner of Dallas, TX Caren Monsees, Abilene, TX

Two great-grandsons: Rowan Daniel Monsees Levi Emerson Hardagree
