Tupelo Billy Wayne Anderson, 74, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 8, 1934, in Union County to George and Nannie Anderson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Monument Drive Baptist Church. He was the owner of Style-Line Furniture Company. He was a member of the StreetRods LTD Car Club and a Shriner. He loved his family and his dog, Buddy. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening and fishing with his grandchildren. Services were Saturday, Jan. 24, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Hill and the Rev. Tim Roaten officiating. Burial with military honors was in Lee Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Margie Anderson of Tupelo; two sons, Philip Anderson (Penny) and Mark Anderson (Kelly) of Tupelo; one daughter, Tina Anderson of Tupelo; one brother, Scott Anderson (Newana) of Petersburg, Va.; two sisters, Nell Yarbrough of New Albany and Bobbie Jones (Gaston) of Blue Springs; six grandchildren, Ray Priest (Sara), Matt Anderson, Jordan Anderson, Kaitlyn Anderson, Connor Anderson and Emily Anderson; and his special caregiver, Jane Hooks. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Leon Anderson, G.W. Anderson and James Anderson. Pallbearers were V.M. Cleveland, Hugh Tigrett, John Goode, Harvey Bailey, Kenny Buchanan, Dale Holloway and Larry Michael. Honorary pallbearers were members of Natchez Trace Golf Club “Nooners” and StreetRods LTD., Ed Rainey, Donald Gentry, Archie Kidd and Jimmy Clifton.
