Harold Adams Snell, 91, died Saturday at a local convalescent hospital.

He was born in Kayton Valley July 4, 1892, and grew up on a ranch. He went to school there and then to Oregon State College, now Oregon State University, in Corvallis, Ore.

He then returned to Kayton Valley where he farmed for his father. He married in 1913 in McArthur and settled there where he owned and operated a general store. He came to Napa County about 1940 and went to work at Mare Island Naval Shipyard as a shipfitter, retiring in 1960.

He was a charter member and past master of Fort Crook Lodge No. 575 of Fall River Mills, past patron of North Chapter O.E.S. and Silver Spray Chapter No. 59 O.E.S. of Napa.

Mr. Snell is survived by his wife, Nellie of Napa; a son, Stewart H. of King City, Ore.; two daughters, Helen M. Williams of Aiea, Hawaii, and Marjory J. Spragio of Napa; a sister, Muriel Cameron of Fairfield; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Richard Pierce Funeral Service, 1660 Silverado Trail, under the auspices of Yount Lodge No. 12 F.&A.M. Interment will be at Tulocay Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Shriners Hospital For Crippled Children, 1701 Nineteenth Ave., San Francisco, 94122.
