Hal J. Durham (81) was born on August 10, 1911 to Mr. & Mrs. George P. Durham Sr. and raised on the the El Sauz Ranch Division of the King Ranch. He worked for the King Ranch for 55 years where in 1986 he retired. During WWII from 1941-1946 he served in the Pacific
Theater earning two bronze stars.

In 1947 he married Georgia Lorraine Palmer. Together they had two daughters Reta and Sarah. From 1958 to1985 he served as Justice of the Peace of Kenedy County. South Texas has lost the last one of the true pioneers. Hal is best remembered for his honest and straight foward approach to anything and anyone.

He was admired and loved by all who met him. He was quiet, reserved and dignified. He was loyal to his family and profession, qualities which are hard to find in a man. He leaves behind many memories for his family and friends. He will be missed by all.

Graveside funeral services were held at the Raymondville Memorial Cemetery.
