Arthur Milo Amundson, the son of Albert and Mina (Flaten) Amundson was born September 6, 1928 in Rolling Forks Township, Minnesota. He grew up in Rolling Forks Township where he attended country school. On December 5, 1952 Art entered the United States Army. He served his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on October 12, 1954. After the Army, Art continued to farm in Rolling Forks Township.
On September 29, 1962, Art was united in marriage to Lavone Ellison in Wisconsin. Following their marriage the couple settled down on Arthur’s family’s farm in Rolling Forks Township, where they raised their family and lived out their entire married life. Art continued to farm until he retired in 1994. Art and Lavone shared 46 years of marriage before Lavone passed away on March 3, 2009. After Lavone died, Art moved into Parkview Court in Glenwood. He continued to reside there until he needed more daily care and moved to the Clarkfield Care Center in Clarkfield, MN. He passed away there on November 8, 2014.
Art loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He enjoyed rides in the country, visiting the farm, talking to the neighbors and had a special place in his heart for horses and dogs.
Art is survived by his sons: Eric (Diane) Amundson of Clarkfield, Lorne (Paige) Amundson of Wheaton, MN and Kris (Brenda) Amundson of Webster, SD; grandchildren, Derek (Megan), Kyle, Cody (Anna), Caitlin, Brady (Shianne), Heather, Holli, and Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Eyan, Dylan, Emma, Myla, and Alyna; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Amundson and Nancy Ellison; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Art was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lavone; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby (Glen) Simmons and Arlene (Luverne) Kolstad; brother, Tilmer Amundson and brother-in-law, Eldon Ellison.
