Alice M. Voyles "Granny," 86, passed away peacefully at 8:50 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton.
She was born in Seymour, Iowa on August 30, 1929, the daughter of the late Ray and Tena Bozwell.
Alice and her husband Preston had owned and operated for 27 years, Pres' Market in Upper Alton, until 1977. She volunteered at OASIS Women's Center for seven years. Her proudest achievements were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alice married Preston L. Voyles in May, 1948 in Alton. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1984.
She is survived by four children, Vickie Jackson of Hallsville, Missouri, Rhonda Roloff of Godfrey, Perry Voyles of Bethalto, and Tana Harter of Brighton; six grandchildren and their spouses, Lori and Wayne Doherty, Beth and Tyler Rawlings, Jason and Michelle Roloff, Justin Roloff, Levi Harter, and Dylan Harter; six great-grandchildren, Sean, Jake, Sam, Shelby, Brianna, and Blythe.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Bill; two sisters, Lanora and Dot; special son-in-law, Dennis Roloff.
A private Graveside Service was held at Valhalla Memorial Park.
Memorials can be made to the OASIS Women's Center.
