Gloria O. Beers, 88, of Millersburg, went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 7, 2011. Born August 30, 1923, daughter of the late Elmer E. and Florence (Crothermel) Travitz. Gloria was retired from the State Police Academy. She graduated from Millersburg High School, class of 1941. Gloria had a passion for dogs; border collies were her favorite. She also enjoyed crocheting. Along with her parents, Gloria is preceded in death by husband, Charles O. Beers; brothers, Russell, Robert and Marlin Travitz; and sisters, Mary Amig, Kathleen Zerbe and Pauline Warfel. Surviving are her caregiver and niece, Carol Fulkroad of Millersburg; nieces, Sandra Bonawitz of Millersburg, Melissa Zerbe of Richmond, VA, and Brenda Travitz of Millersburg; nephews, Larry Zerbe of Richmond, VA, Ronald Travitz and Robert Travits, Jr. both of Millersburg; special friends, Holly Bressler and Katie Appel; and stepson, Herman Beers. Graveside services will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
