Marvene Willanell Huskey, age 83, of Duncan Hill Lane, Taylorsville, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015, at Catawba Regional Hospice. She was born August 10, 1932, in Caldwell County to the late Milas and Bertie Prithcard Huskey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Billy A. Kidd; brothers, Ernest, Paul Huskey and W.M. Huskey; and two infant siblings.

Ms. Huskey was retired from the furniture industry and was of the Advent Christian faith.

Survivors include one son, Norman H. Kidd, Jr. of Texas; daughter, Norma K. Griner and husband Jimmy of Georgia;; three sisters, Idell H. Good of Taylorsville, Josephine “Jo” H. Baker and husband Wayne of Hudson and Delores H. Schronce of Lenoir; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and special caregiver, Kellie Williams.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Jim Lee.
