Mrs. Christina Sophia Wideen Peterson, Native of Sweden and pioneer resident of Salt Lake, died in a local hospital Wednesday night at the age of 88 years. She was the widow of Andrew Peterson and came to Utah in 1866. Mrs. Peterson had been ill a short time, chiefly from infirmities due to her advanced age.
Born in Winterasa, Narke, Sweden, Mrs. Peterson left Sweden in a sailing vessel in April, 1866, and reached Utah in October of the same year. She passed the balance of her life in this community.
Surviving are the following three sons and a granddaughter: O.F. Peterson, President of the Peterson Real Estate and Investment Company; A.V. Peterson, advertising agent for the Oregon Short Line Railroad; A.E.H. Peterson, Vice President of the real estate company, and Miss Romaine Peterson.
