Shirley F. Beschta, age 81, passed away unexpectedly at ThedaCare Medical Center in New London, on Sunday, October 11th, 2015. Shirley was born on January 18, 1934 in the Township of Bovina to the late Frank and Marie (Knopp) Beyer. She was united in marriage to Arthur Beschta Jr. on August 4, 1953 in Shiocton. They had 65 happy years together. She graduated from Shiocton High School in 1952. Shirley worked in the office at Shiocton Kraut Factory for several years. She loved working in her flower gardens, sewing, bowling and especially playing cards. In 1963, they bought and moved onto the dairy farm. She worked side by side with Arthur, helping carry milk, sort and cut cabbage and drive tractor. Shirley also drove school bus for Shiocton School District, for 15 years. She loved going to the cottage with her family and friends. In Shirley’s later years, she was proud that her son, David, carried on the family farm. She also loved cooking for the family and having everyone up to the cottage at Shawano Lake. Shirley enjoyed spending time with the grand kids and great-grand kids. She was a member of St. Denis Church.

Shirley is survived by her husband Arthur Jr.; daughter Diane Beschta (LeCapitaine), Appleton and a son David (JoAnn) Beschta, Shiocton; grandchildren, David (Katie) Beschta, Angela (Erik) Heiden, Ashley (Tom) Glatz, Danielle Beschta, Brandin (Brittany) LeCapitaine, Chad LeCapitaine, Spencer LeCapitaine, Jason (Jessie) Diermeier and Jeremy (Ashley) Diermeier; great grandchildren, Brooke Beschta, Nicholas Beschta, Joseph Gorski, Ashley Gorski, Hailey Glatz, Mercedes Hieden, Kyla LeCapitaine, Kinsley LeCapitaine, Dezyl LeCapitaine, Mavryk LeCapitaine, Tyler Diermeier, Cody Diermeier, Nolan Diermeier and Blake Diermeier,

Shirley is preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Diermeier; her parents, three brothers, Raymond Beyer, Harland Beyer and Kenneth Beyer and a sister, Florence Kipke.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton. Fr. Richard Allen will be officiating and burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Shirley will be Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at St. Denis Church and again from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.
