He was born Nov.16,1894 at Wellington, Utah to John Hillary and Cythia Louise Zabriskie Allred. His father died when he was two years old. His mother married Henry Dexter Allred who raised Claude.
He married Mable Anderson July 27, 1916 in Duchesene, Utah.
Claud's family moved to Bluebell, Utah in April 1909. He worked on all the High Lakes, and worked on Moon Lake. He helped survey the road from Bluebell to Altamont and worked on it with team and scraper. Allred also spent one winter at Dinousaur digging out the first dianousaur.
Claud hauled freight from Price to most of the stores in Roosevelt in 1916 the same year he was married. He worked at the saw mills and was a farmer most of his life. He helped the Harmstons survey the first ditch to bluebell and worked with a team of horses on the ditch.
Allred also helped with the graveling of Highway 40 from Ioka Land to Bluebell. He started as a ditch rider at Bluebell on May 5,1957 and continued for 16 years.
Allred is survived by his widow, Mable of Bluebell, Utah, eight children; Florence (Albert)Powell Granger Ut.,
Bert (Erma)Allred Myton Ut., Douglas (Larain)Allred Myton Ut., Rex Allred S.L.C. Ut., Doris (Jerry)Guice S.L.C. Ut.,
Delance (Kay) Allred Neola Ut., Andrew (Ruth) Allred Rangley Colorado, Max (Eloyce) Allred Grand Junction Colorado., nineteen Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, Feb 20,1982.
At the Altamont LDS Church. Burial was in the Bluebell Cemetery.
