Harvey Stewart was born on December 11, 1874 to William Stewart & Laura White. He married Harriet Amanda Horn, daughter of Jacob Horn & Joann Melissa Chennault, around 1894. Together they had 6 daughters: Aletha, Zelma, Marcella, Francis, Harbie Amanda,
and Hattie Mae. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World. Their motto is "Dum Tacet Clamet" which means "Though Silent He Speaks."
