Elmer L. Alles Dies of Injuries in Auto Accident
Elmer L. Alles died at the Weld County General hospital at 2:20 p.m. Monday of injuries sustained in an automobile collision at the north edge of Evans on U.S. 85 Sunday, Sept. 22. Also in Alles car were his children, Tony, 4, Ava, 7, and Alma, 9. All except Ava Alles were taken to Weld County Hospital. Ava is now recovering at Children's Hospital at Denver.
Funeral services for Alles will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Congregational Church with arrangements by Adamson mortuary.
Alles was born May 4, 1921 at Kuner. When he was 9 months old the family moved to a farm east of Evans. He attended the Auburn school and Greeley High school.
He enlisted in the navy in 1942 and after receiving a medical discharge from the Navy, enlisted in the Army. He was discharged into civilian life in 1945.
Alles had been living at Kersey, Route 3 at the time of the fatal accident. He was a member of St. Paul's Congregational church.
Alles is survived by his widow, Mrs. Delores Herbst Alles, his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Gottlieb Alles of Greeley and by four children; Alma, Ava, Andrea and Anthony Alles, all at home; also four sisters and one brother: Mrs. Helen Foose, Mrs. Dorothea Holland, Mrs. Virginia Martin, Miss Darlene Alles and Robert Alles, all of Greeley.
