Anna Sevilla Tempus, 90 died peacefully on Oct 9, 2015 at Buchanan County Health Center Long Term Care Center where she had resided for the last 3 years.
Anna Sevilla Martin was born on Nov 24, 1924 to Otto and Minnie (Stauss) Martin at the family home near Aurora, IA. She was baptized and confirmed in the First Baptist Church in Aurora. She graduated from Aurora High school in 1943.
After graduation she worked at People's Hospital in Independence as a cook. On Feb. 14, 1946, she married Lyle Harold Tempus at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They were parents of seven children, Charles, Peggy, Donald, Paul, David, Jerry and Douglas. Anna's joys were her family, her garden and her church. Her hobbies included gardening, cross-stitch and watching the Cubs. She was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Aurora, Farm Bureau and Kings Daughters.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Lyle Independence, Chuck (Lois), Aurora, Peg (Roy) Angle, Coon Rapids, MN, Don (Mary Anne), Eastman, WI, Dave (Kathy), Nora Spring and Doug (Joyce) Northwood, 13 grandchildren, 1 step-grand son, 24 great-grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Diane Tempus, Arroyo Grande, CA, Ellen Tempus, Pella, and Linda Gosse, Independence and brothers-in-law Roger Tempus, Independence and Gary (Roxie) Tempus, Smithland, KY.
She is preceded in death by two sons, Paul and Jerry, her parents, Otto and Minnie Martin, brother John Martin, sisters Esther Strickell and Marcell in infancy and daughter-in-law Suellen Tempus.
